I thought Chow’s claim to fame was developing young quarterbacks into Heisman winners while serving as OC?

Last year, UH was blown out every game.

The margin of defeat is way smaller this year vs 2012. 5 games within a TD. 7 games UH was tied, ahead, or within one score of opponent at halftime.

0-11 sucks, but this isn’t close to as bad as the 1998 team. The 1998 team’s avg margin of defeat was 23 points, and only averaged 12.4 ppg and was shutout twice. The 1998 team did not have a single loss within a TD. Statistically, the 2012 season was much more comparable to 1998.

As mentioned many times before post-halftime adjustments have been awful. Just seems like the coaches can’t anticipate how the other team will adjust. In most games I’ve seen, the defense plays pretty well in the majority of the first halves. TK’s inability to counter the other team’s halftime adjustments is what sinks the winnable games entering halftime.

Also, 6 losses have come when UH scored over 27 points. When an offense scores 27-35, your defense needs to win you a game or two or three. Score over 35, you should be winning those games 90% of the time.

when you score 56 points and cant win before looking at chow my eyes would 100% be on TK as first to go.

chow and the offense are close, people with any knowledge and vision and football i.q. can see that. however the defense is not close, nowhere near where it needs to be. when the d cant hold or no confidence in the d, yeah as a head coach your decision making will not be that simple anymore, as if it ever was anyway.

even a zero-brained zombie is smart enough to know you can’t fire chow in part because the offensive coordinator is not doing a bad job, and that OC is chow. but TK, he’s making himself very expendable come next season when it will be bowl game or bust. if you score 56 points and did not win, it’s the D that lost the game, not the O. sorry, TK needs to be released and a new DC installed next year. for those that think play calling is vanilla, with this group of players in the system come next year i think we will all see a new brand of football where chow can really exploit things.

chow absolutely will get a third year, with the talent he has gotten and gotten them to play. he bit the bullet with growing pains and sorry numbnuts, but again anyone with any sort of football i.q. knows a head coach needs at least 3 years to be judged.

i am sooooooooo loving this crybaby convention on this blog. i dont know whats better, a win or seeing all the crybabies

When you score 56, you should be winning by at least a few TDs.

Besides, if the OLine can’t give Iosefa 1 yard on two tries, you don’t deserve to win. Sheesh, if the OLine gets zero push and just hold their ground and give Iosefa a clean run to the line of scrimmage, he’s going to get 2-3 yards on his own.

This loss is solely on Kaumeyer and his defense. 700+ yards given up is embarrassing. I don’t care if the weather was freezing, that might only cost a warm weather team 6 or 7 points in the long run at most.

Statistically, the offense has made a big improvement vs last year. It’s the defense that’s cost UH most of their losses this year. It has been penalties to extend drives, botched assignments in coverage, giving up a ton of 3rd down conversions, and consistent 3rd quarter meltdowns by the defense that has hurt the team the most.

Chow doesn’t coach the defense, but he needs to shake up the defensive staff this offseason. If Chow won’t fire TK, Ben Jay needs to step in and do it. I’d be in favor of TK getting canned this week. Maybe the defense will boost their play with a fresh voice calling the shots for senior night.

I give a ton of credit to the offensive players for playing their guts out. Honestly, this team has a ton of character. They could have rolled over and quit (which would make the trolls happy), but they are true Warriors and are playing very hard.
