SDSU was totally over confident and flat. We should have beaten them.

SDSU came into to town, had a four day vacation complete with tours, hanging at the beach and the hotel pool. walked into Aloha Stadium, played like crap and got the win. Its a total shame. A mediocre team like SDSU playing really badly (that QB was worse than SS) and we cannot make them pay. SDSU should have gotten spanked last night. Chow needs to go day after Army.

On the one deep ball to Harding that was grossly underthrown, in SS’s defense, he was absolutely smashed by an unblocked blitzer. Pretty amazing he wasn’t hurt because he took the full force of a big guy hitting him at full speed while he was unprotected. SS was basically folded in half.

Mostly very competitive games. Lots if action.

Just glad we aren’t gettin blown off the field like last year. So if there’s any upside to 0-10, that’s it.

Just overthrowing Gant on the streak too many times. His long completion to Harding was under thrown and we got lucky. He was struggling after that first interception.

That was probably one of the reasons we kept pounding the ball, with some success until Dew got hurt. I was tough sledding when Dew got hurt.

I think that the linebacking play has gotten worse. Maybe they are taking too many chances and not playing on their assignments but we seem to be out of position on many of those long runs by opponents.

Regarding the comments on pay for assistant coaches. I agree that we are handicapped by what we pay and Chow did what he thought best when he first assembled his staff. It is a greater gamble as pay does determine who is available who has contacts to recruit, who can motivate and teach, who has experience and the like. Many of the coaches have been excellent in recruiting.

I am in agreement that some changes need to be made on staff. And like a wise poster said previously, it is a game, we are fans and we need to support the team. ultimately, Ben Jay is the boss and it is his decision as to what happens to this “subsidiary”.

I enjoy watching the team. I get frustrated but, I still look forward to watching them play on Saturdays and support the team.

Fresno pays their coordinators in the $160-$190k range if I’m not mistaken. That’s still about 40-50% better than what UH is paying, before you get into cost of living.

I think UH, UNLV, New Mexico and SJSU are the lowest paid coaches in MWC – I don’t have numbers to support. But looking back over the decades these programs have always had problems generating a winning program.

the point is it’s not easy to land a good coach when the pay is low. You get what you pay for in most cases.

Polymom, funny you blame Ben Jay and not Chow. Ben Jay didn’t hire Chow. If he doesn’t get rid of Chow it will be impossible to raise money for the athletic program.

That’s on the head coach. It is sad but the real outcome from this game showed that coach Chow doesn’t have the “it” to win.
