I don’t know who’s decision it was to go almost exclusively with Lakalaka but it was a bad one. I thought St. Juste would’ve been a good change of pace. He hits the holes quicker and can bounce it outside if there is none. I was surprised he didn’t start. In my opinion he would’ve put more pressure on SDSU’s defense and made play action more effective.

The offense had no rhythm. It seemed like SDSU’s defense was one step ahead of our play calling. They anticipated what we were going to do and for the most part stopped us. It didn’t look like we had them guessing on defense at all.

i value the ‘football knowledge’ as stated on here … by a few… like jeezy..a house..rainbow cliff.. al …n a few other…even FJ HAS HIS POINTS…can’t keep doing the same thing n expect different results…

we are one dimensional… can’t pass… so we are dead…the rest on our schedule will see that…n unless we can generate 30 to 35 points a game..wee are doomed…thew defense …while great..will start to take its toll…holding a team..ne team to 15 to 20 points a game..is very good in my book…but only if that same team is ‘offense minded’…which we are not..

The SDSU bigs really did a good job at the point of attack.

SDSU’s QB stinks, but UH couldn’t force him into mistakes.

I would guess he’d be interested should there be a HC opening in a couple years. I thought Rolo was a bit too inexperienced before becoming OC at UH, but I think his time under Chris Ault really helped him as a playcaller. As a QB developer, I’m not sold on him just yet. Fajardo is a good dual threat QB, but his efficiency hasn’t improved under Rolo other than Rolo’s 1st year at UNR. In fact, Fajardo’s efficiency is down 20 points or so from the last two seasons. I want to see Rolo manage the offense next year after Fajardo graduates. I fear UNR is in for a rough drop like Fresno and SJSU are going through this year after losing Carr and Foles respectively.

I expect UNR to drop somewhat next season, but if Rolo’s offense can at least maintain their production, then I think Rolo will have earned my blessing to go for UH’s eventual vacancy.

I don’t know how much Rolo is involved in recruiting now, but he wasn’t great in that area while at UH. If he does come back, he and Ben Jay must do a good job of retaining or hiring the coaches that are the better recruiters.

Just as long as they keep fighting. I also appreciate your toughness of a warrior mr Woolsey but maybe it would be wise for him to sit out. Riley redshirt would be a shame to waste but Woolsey risking his body is a bigger deal I.m.o

So, I don’t know how you can say you can’t see winning anymore games. It could happen but it sure is a pessimistic outlook. I can understand it considering the past but still….

this is what UH football has become. When you say “double their wins this year,” we’re not talking about from 3 wins to 6 wins and bowl eligibility. or from 5 wins to 10 wins. We’re talking about so far going from 1 win to 2 wins, with one of those wins coming from an FCS team.

The norm chow era, a.k.a. the hindenburg.

after reading the comments… sort of tongue tied here…
but logic to me is…if a very good QB is not 100%…he can for the most part get ‘er done…if a mediocre QB is not 100%…he still maybe be effective…but when a QB is not rated that highly is not 100%….then the head coach…should be able to figure that out…even in this case ..if he was 100%…maybe still would not make much difference…

i am sure we can all say one thing about ‘coach’…he sure is loyal…n stick to his decisions….good or bad…for that i give him credit…even as most can see..his choice is not working…

FJ is being proven right..as games goes by…seems like more so each week… wish he was not so pernicious in his comments about coach…but he is entitled to his opinions n how he expresses them…

sad to say… can’t see them winning ne more games this season…but they did double there winnings so far this year…can only hope for the best…maybe BJ WILL FIND SUM ‘CASH’ N PAY PEOPLE TO GO N WATCH THEM PLAY…

Better to put Reilly in now with half the season left. That’s enough games to find out if Reilly has potential. If he preserves his redshirt year this year, he’s likely to be stuck behind Wittek next year. Reilly needs to really lobby to Wynn and Chow to give him a chance to prove himself. If Reilly performs well enough to possibly permanently take over as starter, then Wittek has to step his game up to be able to start next year. That bodes well for UH no matter who starts next year.

Looking at it from a coach’s point of view, UH is still just 1-1 in MWC and the West division is so weak, UH still has a chance to win the division as the defense & Harding’s punting will give UH a shot in just about every game. With that viewpoint, Chow will likely continue starting IW as long as he can still stand on his own two feet.

My viewpoint is that Chow is going to have to realize he needs to make the change to try and save his job. At this point, I’d take a healthy, untested freshman over a banged up Woosley, who by the way hasn’t been good when healthy. Just by watching at Woosley play, I guess he’s barely at 60% health (to put a % on it). Now he can’t run in addition to his ongoing struggles with accuracy.

Chow has given Woosely way more leeway than any coach should. At this point, this feels like Rex Ryan sticking with Geno Smith (sorry Jets fans).
