If it wasn’t allowed, they were willing to leave the NCAA all together. TV money is the root of all this. With the inability of most mid majors to fully fund COA the inequity is enhanced. Mid majors supposedly have a chance at winning a natiinal championship. The cards continue to get stacked in the P5’s favor.

The bigger they are the harder they fall. LET’S GO BOWS!

every scholarship athlete, full or partial, receives a COA? thus, covering sports that have to “share” a few ( 5 or 6 ) scholarship $$$ among 15 players?

there still seems to be, IMHO, inequities and ripe for a civil action against the NCAA, UH, UHAD, etc.

and, tempmanoa has a point – why do the mid-majors and lower have to play with COA? how often does a “blue chip” chose UH over a Power5 school? yes, there have been a few, but enough to warrant COA? someone is pulling the wool – it’s all a facade!

The P5 schools are getting $millions every year in TV money and ticket sales and they should share this with the players. However, where there is no big TV money, it is crazy to try to pay the stipends– a lot of schools like us only have money to pay stipends for a year or so, then what will they do? It also draws a line between the athletes and the students on financial aid and scholarships who are also not allowed to work but but do not get cost of attendance stipends.
