Vegas in many ways is an archetype anomaly.

So, it has glitter, is a global destination, has hordes of capitalization potential, and is a sports town. What it is not, is a football college town, and never has been. I am hesitant to say they can create that interest from scratch. They tried to bring in a big name guy like John Robinson, and in 6 seasons he was 28–42.

The thing about big money, is when you tally a couple of losing seasons and your net worth is spinning downwards, well, fatigue is not the only thing that makes us cowards–insolvency can make you mighty jittery. That said, I see where you are coming from….

I agree. The state of our program is pretty bad right now. We don’t even know our coaching situation and no one is going to want to coach here knowing job security is minimal. We don’t even have a competent AD and we are just taking steps back slowly at a time we can’t afford to. This is a all time low from what I can remember including Von Appen era. At least we got rid of Von Appen after he failed.

I think they can do for football what they’ve done for basketball over the years with the right formula. Vegas is an attractive place for 18 year olds and if they improve their facilities they can pull kids from Nevada and California.
