This is a good example about how having 10 less scholarships has hurt USC’s depth. Right now USC’s first team is practicing with a walk-on at left tackle, backed up by a freshman.

USC Coach Lane Kiffin installed Aundrey Walker as the starting left tackle during spring practice, but the 6-foot-6 sophomore has been sidelined for most of the first week of camp because of injuries.

With the Sept. 1 opener against Hawaii three weeks away, walk-on Nathan Guertler, a 6-5, 270-pound redshirt sophomore from Norco, continues to work in Walker’s place. Freshman Max Tuerk also worked at the spot Saturday.

Since UH plays both schools every year, UH will still face him. I’ve read that Quezada’s brother passed away last year and wanting to be closer to home was a factor in his transfer.

The Universe has learned that running back Joshua Quezada will transfer from BYU to Fresno State.

Quezada was expected to compete with tailback Michael Alisa for carries this seasons. The opening created by Quezada’s transfer is expected to be filled by Adam Hine, David Foote and freshman tailback Jamaal Williams.

If you are just looking at who Vegas is favoring in each game, then you are probably correct that UH will be favorites in 4 games and underdogs in 8 games. However, UH will only be *slight* underdogs in at least 4 games and will be heavy favorites in 4 games.

So, while Vegas might give UH a less-than-50% chance to win each of the individual 8 games, the Vegas lines would indicate the probability of UH winning 2 or 3 of the 8 games. If all you are going is by Vegas odds, you should actually be encouraged, not discouraged.

Probability example: let us say that you flip a coin that is heads 51% of the time and tales 49% of the time. So, the odds say that heads would be more likely to happen ever time. But after 4 flips of the coin, the chance that no tails comes up is 0.057%. In other words, you would get 0 times less than 6 times out of a 100, you would get 2 tails or 1 tail over 15 times more often than 0 tails.

IMHO….i think the younger generation might go for that more then one side yelling rain and the other side yelling bows.
