But the town is an easy walk though with a bunch of shops. Kids may enjoy it too. In Juneau, the Governor says that you can see Russia from there but most people will probably go to the Mendenhall Glacier and go out on the boat trip to spot whales.

It is easier and more convenient to go on tours through the ship BUT all of those places have tour people right by the dock and is much more inexpensive. Carry antivertigo medication – though the ship people can supply them and, if you suspect you need it, take one a couple hours before boarding the ship though the inland passage is fairly calm. And wash your hands frequently – they have dispensers at all the dinning areas!
