Both the men and women had their chance

The serenade was there

So,too,were the prayers

So,too, were the red ants at the picnic

That walked off with the tickets

It all came down to a last game and a bitter finale

As both teams couldn’t match the other teams tally

They tried, they tried, they tried

And both teams have nothing to hide

Shots, passes, and breaks were absent

As,too, the many missed baskets

Today was melancholy

A prelude to two-stepping was…only a folly

In the end fans and players can only look in the mirror

And take solace that teams day of dancing are only getting nearer

For now both teams are a looking at a small dance, a one-step, and a smaller stage

Hopefully the sun is in, red ants are out and both teams turn the page
