Utah is a step up and he’s getting more pay. We shall see what kind of recruiters the new guys are.

Earlier this year his contract, Beeman’s and Gib’s were forwarded by Jay to upper campus or BOR for approval but no official announcement by UH, and surprisingly I haven’t seen an announcement that Beeman’s contract has been finalized. duh.

The first two are very versed in both recruiting and are two-pher s as they have also coached special teams. Doug is the closest thing to a haole fellow that is actually Samoan. Poly families love him, and as 2-3 time coach of the year, he still would have a direct access to the north shore. I fear that his last go round with FVA left a sour taste in his mouth, but he might be up for it, if the salary could reach into the 120-150 range.

Ikaika is someone I already mentioned, and should now be seriously pursued. Has ties to both Hawai’i and the NW–and he might be ready to come home.

Ma’a is great, but the one feature that many are missing is whether wants to do this?? College during season is at minimum a 60-70 hour job, and then you factor off-season recruiting. In other words if you have a family, and some dough socked away(which I’m sure he does) the job becomes, less and less appealing.
