Their people have been better than our people for the past 4 years. How can the coaches recruit when NOBODY wants to come here and play.

Must recruit better people. Coaches must first and foremost recruit

it’s possible there’s financial mismanagement, but also, if you’re talking about the athletic dept deficit, most schools, aside from the very upper echelon of athletic programs, are running deficits. sometimes MASSIVE deficits.

You’re right but UH’s deficit is mostly because of blatant INCOMPETENCE. The people at the top have absolutely no idea what their doing, at worst, they don’t even care. They kept Chow on board because they were “saving money” now the Univ. is even more in debt. IMHO, every member of the BOR should be fired IMMEDIATELY pending an investigation into fraud, waste and abuse.

I think Ikaika can still help the Rainbow Warriors. Dink and
Donk. Do lots of slants. Block diagonally and run zig zags.
Lakalaka can do that.
And oh yes, run the quarterback wide.
And when they are not looking, throw the long pass bomb.
Boom. Hawaii wins 🙂

Come on, guys. It’s 2015. Homophobia and using “gay” as a prejudicial term is silly.

The travel is a factor but UH teams have been dealing with this for the entire existence of the football program. Now that we have an incompetent head coach and a mismanaged team, all of a sudden this factor is SO huge that people think (in theory) that it’s a great idea to dump possibly MILLIONS into this waystation idea (that, just looking at the academic side of the picture, is extremely unfeasible)?

give me a break.

Improve facilities and so on is good, if we have money for it (which, throughout this norm chow trainrweck, we probably don’t/it would be hard to justify when the rest of upper campus, facilities and faculty, is in bad shape… and that IS the primary mission of the university, right? education? not fielding a team of 83 people throwing around footballs?), but a new head coach, provided he is competent, will do much more than looking to hijack another school to provide a satellite campus strictly for football players.

priorities, gentlemen.

someone also wrote: “. It starts from the top. Any school of this size, in this tax median, and geographic location, should not be in a deficit.”

in this, UH is not alone.

That said, burn the film. Would not even do the traditional Monday film review. I still see 7 wins as doable. A right roll here, a tip there, and it still could be legitimately done.

No seperation. That is vital. Its all about seperation. No speed but most important no agility to break open. You have to have a skill set ability to explode off the line and seperate to catch the ball. Run routes crisp and clean meet the ball thrown on point or not. As long as it’s in the vicinity. To give up their body if necessary to catch the ball. That takes instinct. They have to be aggressive from the line. When a real receiver comes up to the line, the defendar will know who’s boss. It ain’t him. Lol. That is the kind of receiver should be recruited based on those atributes. Whittek has the arm. But receivers can’t drop balls. Like the saying goes, “if you touch it, you catch it.”
