He started saying he would run something like a run and shoot combined with his system to use our talent. Instead he went to his under center system. Then most recently he said he learned his lesson that the pound it out system would not work– he would spread it out more. But while he has some formations that are halfway to a spread, his system is still packed into the middle, and most of our game never goes outside the tackles. The one thing he has done is to have the receivers that learned the run the run and shoot routes run them– Harding’s recent TD’s and some of Gant’s TD’s are run and shoot routes (verified by Chow), but the conservative philosophy is still the same.

I concur. Let’s get/stay behind our team, Chow, and the coaches and see how it plays out.
The remaining schedule is not easy so we will be tested but let’s stop the talk about firing Chow and support what we have now. I don’t believe the constant criticism of Chow helps our team’s cause. Let’s play for today and tomorrow’s need of action will unfold. Support, support, support until it is time to make an intelligent decision. We are only half way through the season.
I do strongly with you about the play calling. It needs to get better STARTING THIS WEEK!
Go Bows Go!

Spot on comments. Mack was his own worst enemy. He should have stayed away from the offense and just concentrate on defense. He took the pedal off the gas a couple of times and it resulted in losses.l

The people that brought JJ to SMU are no longer there. He doesn’t have the backing he originally had. That’s why he applied for the position at ASU. He was out the door as the deal was made with the AD. It was announced and then the ASU President shot it down.

JJ has been a lame duck coach for a couple of years now and it affected his health and home life.

He will rebuild the program he brought national acclaim to and turn the reigns over to his successor in 2-3 years.
