27 RPI, if they win out the rest of the way (15-1 BW record)
32 RPI, if they lose once more (14-2 BW record)
44 RPI, if they lose twice more (13-3 BW record)

if the above holds, then hawaii is in decent position, imo, as far as the RPI is concerned…

if hawaii wins out, they could finish as high as 27 in RPI. (this really does make me think of what could have been … if hawaii had been healthy to start the season, and notched some wins against the group of wisconsin/ucla/kansas st/washington, i wonder what their RPI could have been? could it possibly have risen at least into the teens for a shot at a seed?)

if hawaii loses one more match, they have a chance at a 32 RPI. if they don’t win the BW automatic bid, then that RPI very likely gets them into the tournament as an at-large team. it would help if missouri st could finish with a top 50 RPI, b/c if they do, then hawaii will have 2 wins against teams in the top 50 RPI (arizona being the other one). missouri st is forecasted to finish with a 51 RPI, but that projection doesn’t take into account MVC conference tournament matches, and missouri st has a chance to rack up more wins there to possibly boost their RPI.

i don’t want to think about if hawaii suffers 2 more losses before the end of the year. they’d finish around 44 in the RPI. that’s right on the “cut” line for at-large teams ….

She gets better everytime I see her! Celebrates every point, attentive on the bench & can’t stay still on the sidelines!

When UH had a Swedish Connection with Angelica Ljungquist and Karin Lundqvist playing in the SSC, I remember some folks in the crowd waving the Swedish flag. Not sure if that happened in Klum when Anna Vorwerk and Malin Fransson played. I think it might be cool if some Canadian flags get waved around when Emily & Natasha get introduced, and make big plays (of which I hope there are many).

Or maybe hand out a Wahine volleyball towel with the year, and national flags of the players and the state flag on it. It would be a unique and somewhat collectable item.

Had a chance to sit next to the dad of former wahine OP Susie Boogaard at a wahine match in the mainland years ago and he would do a chant. Due to his bigger than life personality, he would steadily get the small but loyal wahine fans there to follow him. By the end of the match, he had most of us following his chant. It was the most fun I ever had at a match. Now, if you can find someone like him to get it going, it would be awesome to do a “Lets Go Bows, Eh?”

I’m hoping too that when Maglio and company saw their performance against LBSU in the last battle, that they will be more motivated to play smart and fierce…NO MERCY! LET’S GO BOWS, EH?!

Maglio had a set back in Long Beach but she is a competitor. I have a feeling Emily will come back smarter and even more fierce at the net. We also need our backcourt to pass well so Iosia can keep the Beach block guessing while feeding both Maglio and Burns.

With Emily and Natasha at the middle of our defense, shouldn’t we be adding a Canadian battle cry in addition to the “Lets Go Bow” chant?
