Elena Ogilvie is definitely impressive for a high school freshman, she is way better defensively than the latest wahine local outside hitters were at the same age and she’s gonna keep geting better she reminds me of Aneli when she was a freshmen but more athletic.
Hopefully she grows to 6 feet tall and She picks UH.

21. I’m glad you mentioned the WCC as a tough conference. In the age of big money football, this is one conference that has shown that its teams can compete in WVB without the trickle down of bowl proceeds (with the possible exception of BYU) and major TV contracts. Clearly the blueprint for the BW.

I agree with your assessment that if UH does not win the BW, there’s a good chance that they will not get an at-large…They did not beat anyone of substance this year…If you look at all of the tougher conferences (Pac-12, Big 10, WCC, etc.), they will get the majority of the 32 at-large bids…After them, there may be as few as 5-6 bids left…

For the curious, UH’s current (as of right now) adjusted RPI rank is 37th, with the 51st-rated SOS. Its best win is over AZ. However, 0-4 versus top 25 RPI, 1-5 versus top 50 RPI. Not a great resume. IMO, if UH loses to LBSU at home and doesn’t get the AQ, I wouldn’t be surprised if UH is left out of the tournament (particularly if AZ tanks it and falls out of the top 50 RPI). Yes, the team has had injuries and on paper is a top 15 team, but you have to play and actually beat the top RPI teams. Another down year, non-conference, for the Big West has hurt too. More interesting will be if UH beats LBSU in Honolulu, wins the other 7 remaining matches, but loses the AQ bid. IMO, if LBSU’s RPI can remain top 50 as it currently is, I think UH gets in. If not, UH is either one of the last four in, or one of the last four out. Thoughts from the blog?

If the UCI-LBSU match isn’t replayed then we don’t have to worry about any tiebreakers. Hawaii controls its own destiny just win out and with a 15-1 conference record, LBSU will finish in 2nd with a 14-1 record.
