Blame the Pac-12 for not wanting ot run a conference and those schools for not offering the sport.

The one possibility was the PacWest DII teams sponsoring men’s volleyball. There was talk (again) of that happening when Cal Baptist joined and Grand Canyon was still in the PacWest. But Grand Canyon is in the MIWA for volleyball and is making the move from the PacWest to DI status.

The Hawaii schools have talked about adding the sport. UHH, HPU and BYUH all had men’s teams at one time. Those three, maybe Chaminade, could add men’s volleyball and sand volleyball for women and keep their gender equity numbers even.

with the move to add sand volleyball, it would make sense that schools such as San Diego State and Loyola Marymount reinstate their men’s VB programs. Then you start having some numbers.
