I don’t know if Croson was no longer playing sand because of Wong. She wasn’t with the indoor team either at SDSU. It’s not academic. she is still in school. and until UH says otherwise, she is still a Wahine. It will be Croson’s decision whether she stays or goes.
as for Riggs, all you have to do is look up her bio on the UH website and it tells you her career at OCC.

Riggs/Longo are dynamic players but need taller partners at the net. Longo and Kastl being new to the beach definitely need to be taken into consideration as well as, heard Riggs played indoor for 2 years at OCC (setting records and ending her indoor career with high honors in the conference and state) and was completely off the sand for those 2 years. She’s only been back since January. Next year, if parings are well matched, UH will be in the mix once again at a top level.

Don’t think there was a “funk” as much as the parings caught up to them, that’s all.

WF, btw, Sunday’s play was “fun play” as the matches did not count towards final points for Nationals. SW traveled all the alternates and even a red-shirt player, so mixed up a few pairs and let a few rest. Not a bad way to end the season!!!

Already looking forward to what the season will bring in 2014 — GO BOWS!!!

I don’t see UH getting 2 in as they did last year.

Until then… you called him a do-nothing. you said that he created turmoil. that shoji does 95 percent of the recruiting. All are incorrect. so let’s drop it.

He brought in a number of very, very good players. Just saying that Sealy and Wong have had the same role when helping Shoji recruit.
Sealy saw the potential in Hartong but she wasn’t an All-American to start. She developed into one after he left.
Again, Hawaii hasn’t had many scholarships to fill since Sealy left.

As for sand taking a step back … don’t agree. There is definitely more schools playing. but the top teams are the same as last year: Pepperdine, Long Beach State, Florida State, USC, Hawaii.
That Ashley Lee and Kaaihue graduated, Hartong isn’t playing and Croson isn’t playing as of late, things have changed in terms of experience.

When USC streamed the matches Kastl was the most impressive hitter for UH , I think her with Longo or Spieler would be great.

When do they find out which duos are invited to the AVCA championships?

Stating facts? I know these are NOT proven facts.

If I am someday proven wrong then I will apologize until then….
