At the D1 level, how can a coach successfully coach 2 D1 sports team. It has to hurt one of the sports teams. Are there any other coaches that coach both Indoor and Sand?

Wong was recruiting sand during last year’s sand season.

Otherwise, it will be very difficult for the Wahine to make the Top 16 teams in RPI. Dave, cannot put his hopes on the other Big West teams helping the Wahine, RPI wise. In fact, the way it looks right now, the Wahine need to come out of those 3 pre-conference tournaments 9-0, to even have a shot at being one of the Top 16 teams in RPI. I truly do not know why, Dave did not think in advance, and now has to scramble to find 3 teams to play.

On a different note, I wish Dave would release, Scott Wong from being the Associate Coach. Have Scott Wong just concentrate on being the Head Coach of Sand Volleyball. By having Scott being the Associate Coach, for indoor, and Head Coach, for Sand, he is hurting one of those teams. Especially, when it comes to recruiting. Dave needs to go out and find an assistant coach that is solely dedicated to coaching indoor, not both.

PVL is a “professional league” and therefore would not be eligible. Perhaps??

Would the team be a completely different mix of players (as has been Steve Warren’s pattern since 1992)? …do the athletes have EIN #s to any one particular licensed or bonded business entity? …would the USAV (formerly the USVBA) have objections to ‘wouldbes’/perspective participants who’d, say, be “trying out”, maybe, for the team in an entirely different VB region?

Hm, there seems to be some gray area that should be quantified.

Is this soo, Cindy?

In theory, yes. August 24-25th..a three team mini-tourney.

Dave should plan on this permanently, already. Seriously!

A pre-Preseason tournament w/ BYU Provo (who’d play BYUH also in the weekend @ least one other time annually). The one other *varying* local Div.II team (BYUH, HPU, and UH-Hilo (who always seems to gets left out)).

Who’d make the EARLY trek on a yearly basis. Dunno?!

That is why I asked you, if there was a NCAA regulation on when teams can actually start playing matches that count.
