But as we have so often found in the past, no matter what you get going into the committee, you get whatever they want coming out. But there’s always hope! Ha! Ha! Go Wahine!

The tournament actually help San Diego move to 14th and the Wahines to 9th. Only Texas did not gain from tourney. This was a blessing actually for Hawaii in many ways. San Diego doing well in tourney makes them a formidable foe. Hawaii losing takes pressure from them of not being the unbeatable team but becoming more hungry and not complacent in any opponent. San Diego may end up beating USC, Iowa St. and Iowa. If I had another team I would root for after Hawaii is San Diego….We have a great local libero on that team and they play stingy defense like us. Hawaii has the best balance, depth, and chemistry I seen in awhile . Every year we have opportunity to be blessed to always cheer on a winning team. Of course, I want it all! But don”t you think our wahines want it all too! They will make us proud! Be patient!

Back in the day, teams that won conference championships, and teams with great won/loss record no matter who they played over course of regular season were in the NCAA champioship playoffs. Of course, far fewer teams, in NCAA BB, etc. Now, with VB men and women, more participation, so they have to formulate something.

Poor Vince Goo, had some teams that had excellent records, however , NCAA selection committee kept on bypassing them. No respect. Same with Shoji’s teams, unless, they finish in top 10. Crazy RPI, or should it be R.I.P.?(sarcasm :D) For Dave’s sake, very hard to do, as opposed to his last national title, so much parity, and you have to have a hot streak, I hope they get better, shore up the weak areas , and make it to Final Four!

what really needs to happen is for the majority of BWC teams to have solid win/loss records as they head into conference play. the effect of the non-conference win/loss will have more of an impact on rpi, than how the teams do in conference. since the BWC teams all play each other, then it’s pretty much averaging a .500 win/loss percentage in the rpi formula, as far as the conference matches are concerned.

Hawaii, has to hope BWC teams do well, also, that UH wins as many non conference games as possible, and of course beating UCLA, and a MUST, beat Arizona!

Hawaii, probably has to sweep the BWC and tourney title. Would be nice, for Shoji to have his team be able to host round or two in NCAA playoffs, he and team deserve it.

Cindy, would it of made any difference if Olevao played? Personally I feel, that USC was so well coached, their defense, the block, and digging whatever UH was trying to put down, was awesome, so having Tai, …felt bummed that UH did not go 3-0, however, hope they are there at the end, go to one more final four. UH will have to play, teams quick and great D, and smart like USD, or the Giants, like Texas, Nebraska, UCLA , Penn St. etc.

Waiting for the 1st RPI rankings to come out, to see where the Wahine stand, and also, how the rest of the BWC Teams stand in the RPI Rankings. How the rest of the BWC Teams stand in the RPI Ranks, will tell how far the Wahine will fall in the RPI Rankings. Here is hoping the rest of the BWC Teams have better RPI Rankings then they did last year, so it will not effect the Wahine to much.

If it wins all three of its matches next week, USC at #3, Iowa State at #11 and Illinois at 18, it could break into the top five of the AVCA Coaches DI Coaches poll next week. That is a big if and a tall order. SC is formidable and Iowa State is a team that mirrors both Hawaii and San Diego, scrappy defense and fast offense.
