I just felt the announcers didn’t do their homework and will ill-prepared to discuss the national scene when looking at the poll. Even said Texas won its first NCAA title last year. Which isn’t true since Texas defeated Hawaii in 1988 for the title.

44. I thought McPeak did have some nice things to say but seemed that they ignored that Hawaii has already beaten Texas and UCLA this season
As for regionals, they are predetermined. What UH is playing for is to host first-second rounds.

Agree with the Kastl fans. Olevao is a great athlete, but does not have that so called swagger or “I’m ready” confidence like Kastl. I would love to experiment having Olevao, Kastl, and automatic Taylor at OH. The Molokai Pounder and All Everything Hartong at MB. Try leaving Vorster out and see our offense become even more lethal. Vorster’s a great block, but we need a little bit more animal coming out of that one Middle Attack. Emily made all conference as a MB too!

I am pretty sure I was watching the same game as the rest of you, but from the comments I am not so sure. I thought that McPeaks answer as to if UH could play with the Pac12 or the others was pretty on point. She seemed to me as if to say that UH could play with ANYBODY. Since I live on the Mainland I see a lot of the other rated teams play and if you listened to their announcers, you would not even know that UH played volleyball. I hope that the Wahines just play the way they did against the Beach and finish the league season without a loss as that is the only way that they could possibly get a bid for the regionals to be played in Hawai’i. As always

20 Ki, think putting the blame on Long in Set 2 is misplaced.
Long came in at 18-6
That big run (when it went from 22-12 to 22-19) included 2 service overpasses, one by Hartong, one by Longo. Cabrajac very tough serves and UH’s passing had Uiato, who was front row, playing very close to the net.
Also at 22-12 Kastl came in for Manu-Olevao on the left.
Long was blocked to make it 22-16, at which time Manu-Olevao came back in for Kastl and Taylor for Long
The Beach’s next 3 points came on a block of Taylor, a kill by Okpala and a block of Manu-Olevao.
At 22-19 Hartong was good her 3-meter attack, ending the 7-0 run.
