41. All you have said could be true. Adolpho would be a senior next fall so we’re saying only for 1 year Beeman would have two playing volley and a short season for them on basketball. I see it as a quality player like Robins-Hardy can make an impact for basketball and as an OH for volley not only as a setter. What do I know, the BB and VB coaches saw it’s disadvantages and R-H just wanted to go away.

Maybe Robins-Hardy was offered to play both at UH but still chose to go away.

hollycow — part of that equation is whether the UH bball coach would allow 2 players on bball scholarship to also play volleyball (since adolpho is still currently on bball scollie as well). i don’t know that answer to that, but perhaps that issue factored in as well. plus hawaii would have had a logjam at the setter position. she may not have fit with hawaii’s recruiting needs at the moment.

she may end up being another one of those local players that got away … but at the same time, hawaii can’t get all the local talent to stay home.

38. LC. Yes Casey’s a guy, well spoken and polite. Federal Way is a small town of 89,000 just south of Seattle and the volleyball followers there are very excited for Megan to play for a highly established, well known successful D1 volleyball program.

Wondering what’s the inside story of Robins-Hardy only getting an offer to play basketball at UH. She wants to play both sports and would have to be on a basketball scholarship anyway. What? no interest and room from the UH coaches for her to play volleyball too on a freebee.
