8. Aiyanna is very big time. But so were all the starters last year for penn state. That’s why she didn’t start. Penn state is loaded with big time players. Prieto hardly played, but she will be a force for them next year. Big time doesn’t mean starter

Aiyana did not contribute much last season and took her redshirt in 2012. in 2011, she started and was hitting at around .400. Out of high school she was under armour 1st team all american. Gatorade player of the year NJ. at 6’5″, she can dominate on the outside. Just wasn’t needed or broke through as a starter.
That is a common problem with PSU as well as other top BCS schools. More outstanding talent than spots. Like any team, it’s cream should rise to the top, but there are a lot of times other factors come into play other than ability to play the sport. like personality conflicts, personal issues or chemistry. If it’s her, she is a very talented and gifted volleyball player.

Time to make some changes. The first should be to start Franciskovic. Joby has not been getting the job done. All the hitters struggled with his sets last night. Time to make that change. Olsen is a little trickier. When he’s good, he’s very good. But when he not, don’t keep him in for 2.5 sets. Mol plays both right and left side. Would definitely like to see him given an opportunity on the left. He’s a good blocker and defensive player.

Was Whitney a factor at Penn State? I wonder why Charlie Wade keeps starting Olsen? He is such a liability on offense, and his back row play really isn’t enough to justify his stay on the court? Are Fey and Mol really that bad? Before anyone can correct me that Mol is a natural opposite, I’m going off on the Advertiser articles in which Wade said Mol was moving to the outside (at least this season).
