His record as a head coach at pacific and now UH is not good. I am begining to think that great first year where the team made the MPSF semi’s was mostly because of asistant Jeff Fisher, every team he goes to wins ALOT.

I also believe this team is right on the verge of something good – they’ve shown flashes of true brilliance, which will be even more frequent and consistent after they have a year of maturity and experience under their belts.

I don’t think Wade deserves another year…he’s had enough.

Yes, I know that teams want to make playoffs. I only reflected my own personal feelings. As for talented players making an impact, I guess Zarkov showed some promise as he was the first after Umlauft who made National Player of the Week, last week. Remember that Umlauft was much, much taller and that makes a difference. Also Ben Patch is tall, 6’8″ so he could make a big impact this year. It’s not easy recruiting talented players and sometimes it takes pure luck. I asked Mike Wilton how he managed to recruit Yuval Katz and he told me that an acquaintance of his knew about him and called his attention to him. Like Umlauft, Yuval Katz only stayed for two seasons, then left. So it’s hard to retain great players. That’s why I watch different teams online, whoever offers free and good quality broadcasts. So I watch BYU broadcasts whenever they’re available. I just enjoy the sport so much.

I just don’t think any of the current UH players are those type of great talents. UH needs an umlauft IMO.

I do think they will improve next year but im afraid not much.

i think this team is right on the verge of something very good. they’re young, and maybe just a year away from really breaking into the top half of the MPSF.

i know some have mentioned on here, that it feels like this is always a young team. but we’re only 2 years removed from the umlauft years. and this is a young team, same as it was a young team last year. but this year, the team is young with a lot of different players. remember than some players (who arguably weren’t cutting it last year) are gone, and there are definitely a few more young faces in the lineup.

we all knew this cal baptist road tripe was gonna be a tough one. it’s tough for a serve-reliant team to find their legs on a road trip. i hate making excuses for a team as much as the next one. i want this team to just break free and find a winning rhythm.

i don’t know if Wade will be here next year. maybe he won’t. but if every player comes back, i think this crop of players could really make a statement in the next couple of years.

He retired with the family plan in place to move to Utah. Agree, tho, that his contract might not have been renewed.

As for attendance, there are several factors contributing, the biggest IMHO is that boys volleyball now conflicts with men’s volleyball. Back when crowds were huge … granted they were also winning … the boys played in the fall as did the girls. Many schools and clubs would bring both their girls and boys teams to the arena. That can’t happen now.

I kind of wish Jeff Fisher was available. Anyway hoping somehow the warriors can make the playoffs but it’s hard to see them finishing undefeated the rest of the way.

When wilton failed to make the playoffs two years in a row, he was fired. also cause attendance was down, same thing with Wade if he doesn’t make the playoffs again and attendance is down (also Wilton never finished last in the league like Wade did last year)

I wouldn’t be so quick to fire him. Again, it’s no use worrying about the team making the playoffs. Since they can barely win on the road, why send them to the lion’s den at BYU again? Spare them an extra road trip. I wish people would stop talking about playoffs. I really don’t care any more. All I care is that they play respectably at home and play well here.

So I hope that at least they can beat UOP both times next week. As for USCB it would be nice if they could beat them as well, but they are ranked higher. UCSD is no pushover and it won’t be easy for them to win them on the road. I’ll be content if Hawaii can win at home. At least Hawaii shouldn’t lose to weaker teams. That’s all we can hope for from now on.

Believe he was going through a divorce and had young kids that he didn’t want to leave.
