Tiki808 – I’m sorry but you’re making no sense with your comments. And if home court advantage was true with Hawai’i having more local kids on their team than UCLA and Long Beach St, then UH (by your observation) should be undefeated. Having more kids from the same state that the match is being played in is irrelevant .

UCSB is better (3-2, 2-2 MPSF) than UCSD. Ramos and Kanetake don’t need to be commanding figures. Setters and liberos rarely are. UH has height Averill is 6-7, Holt 6-9.
UCSB does have some height but not all of them are playing. Their kill leader is 6-4 Kingl. their other go-to guy is 6-4 Hanley. Staahl is a 6-6 MB, is Licht is a 6-4 opposite. Thompson is a 6-9 MB.
UH’s starting lineup matches up with with the Gauchos size-wise.
Key difference is the size of the setter. Ramos is listed at 6-feet. Self is listed at 6-8.
The other factor will be this is UH’s first road trip.

UC Santa Barbara is a better team. With home court advantage, UC Santa Barbara match vs. Hawai’i will win due to their height and depth and quickness. I’ll go with UC Santa Barbara to win on the next match vs. Hawai’i Warriors.

Home court advantage wll win on this court. Really?

They’ll need more from the middle blocker Davis Holt. Basically for Hawai’i Warriors.

UC Santa Barbara got some big guys to go to. (2) 6-8 and (1) 6-9 player. All from California. Home court advantage. California.

Hopefully we carry this momentum to next weeks matches with UCSB.
