I know you say ‘unfortunate not to have enough scholarship help’ Every team has walk-ons. Players know what they’re agreeing to when they walk on. Most have turned down scholarship offers to be a part of the Wahine program. Their decision. And many players are fortunate to have families who can afford UH, which is cheap relatively speaking. I know some who have come to UH because out-of-state tuition is still cheaper than what in-state tuition in California is.

Don’t know how it’s going to work out next year since they have 3 commits and losing 2 scholarship seniors. My feeling continues to be that the scholarship agreements are between the coach and the players. Stauber an example. Walked on first year with the promise of a scholarship the next. Believe Mendoza came in as a walk-on.

As for thinking that a current player might not be on volleyball scholarship or not playing next year , as of now Manu-Olevao is not going on her mission. Said yesterday she will look at it after her playing career is done at UH.
Huff said she might look at playing a basketball as a junior, which would be in 2016. Still no guarantee that basketball would have a scholarship for her.
