new thread up for Saturday

181. I have found their warmups interesting and very non-VB. But it’s how they’ve trained starting in spring.

182. it’s so early. No film really on these teams, except for Hawaii given the TV coverage. Iowa finding itself as well. second year coach. As happened with wichita state, Hawaii took awhile to adjust but they did. Plus Hawaii’s serving improved and it didn’t allow Keala to run what she had been running earlier.

Not sure why the said that none can effectively do the step-out. the word is ‘consistently’ do the step-out. Maglio not bad. Mitchem just needs more reps. Both will improve. Not sure if we’ll ever see Magill run it. But I do have video evidence that she has practiced it.

Thanks on Greeley.

Since none of the wahine can effectively do the step out yet, the wahine haven’t really practiced against it. Consequently, Iowa was killing with the step out in the first couple of sets. They finally figured out the blocking scheme (Granato) by being patient and watching for it at the pin. I hope they can get a couple of middles to execute it soon.

Hi Cindy, I finally caught up on my newspaper reading. Great article on Greeley. To quote Lisa Strand-Ma’a, she really is a “Steady Eddie”. Because of that, she can be overlooked by the other team. Which is good for us. “Stealth is good.” Keep up the great work! :o)

If your not familiar with the difference Google it…..most modern fitness experts advise “dynamic stretching” prior to a match….

Kristen looks like she is listed about 6’1 or so so she could arrive at 6’2. That would be great.

Lose to new mexico state ( horrible loss) and then gets killed by texas a&m
I was hoping they would be a top 20 team to boost the wahine rpi but that won’t be the case.

Tai currently represents a certain potential that we will likely need in post season play when the pressure is on and experience counts. When she is on, she can be very effective. A good example was set 4 last night. However, much work to develop a new mindset that focus on consistency, is needed. I think it can be done. Meanwhile, others need to be given play time so multiple options are available to both backup Tai up or replace her if she falters.

Just wondering does Kirsten look a legit 6’2 or 6’3?
