ASU lost its last four prior to the tournament, 2-8 in their last 10.
8-12 in conference.

I was on the same thought level of Mav and just didn’t want to start anything, even though it was obvious who the tweeter/blogger is.

But of course…it is none other than Digg’n Na Wahine. He tweeted “Is it too late to steal Megan Rice from UCSB?” People can see his twitter https://twitter.com/DiggingNaWahine?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

And so began my comment.

Thought both the #2-in-WCC-Standings (San Diego) and co-#3 (Loyola-Marymount) would advance, and that they did. But don’t think the other co-#3 (Santa Clara) will join them on Friday. [Hard to believe but LMU’s victory over Colorado State was the first NCAA Tournament win for the Lions since defeating Cal-State Northridge on Dec. 3, 2003.]

Somewhat surprised that the Macey Gardner-less Arizona State, which finished 8th in Pac-12 Standings, even made it into the Big Dance. But the Sun Devils can brag that 2015 was the year they beat Stanford for the first time ever in their conference battles . Took 15 years but the losing streak ended at last.

GO BOWS!

I hope the 10 hours. Air/land don’t affect Hawaii as much. They need to start quickly.

TCU has a good block. They like to run their offense through their middles, and one of their middles is very good. Their pins are good and tall. Overall they reminded me a bit of UC Irvine, only a bit quicker and more effective at the middle. Kansas eventually got the best of them, but it wasn’t until the second set that it was clear that Kansas would be the better team. Kansas pressured them with their serving, and kept them from going to their middles as much as they wanted to. TCU didn’t have an answer for the Kansas’ big hitter, Payne. She’d elevate over the TCU block and hit over them or around them, or frequently get a quick set and hit against no block or only one blocker. I wouldn’t be surprised though if TCU is very competitive tomorrow. They were in the first set against Kansas, and whenever Payne was out of the rotation, TCU had their opportunities and their runs.
