Sac State in there as well.
Kind of surprised they aren’t in the WCC but maybe their request wasn’t accepted.
Not too many conferences sponsor the sport. The MWC doesn’t, the Big West doesn’t.

I did know that Louisville left the Big East for the ACC and Rutgers joined the Big Ten. But I forgot about the AAC, as what happens on the East Coast rarely registers in my mind. (San Diego State is an AAC associate member in women’s rowing.

AAC will get an automatic, but I do not know if the NCAA ended an automatic bid from one of the minor conferences. Unlikely but possible, as the NCAA has repeatedly stated that NOT ALL conference champions receive an automatic berth into D1’s women’s volleyball championship tournament. NCAA’s official site says it’s still 33-31 but 32-32 sounds plausible.

Logan Tom a prime example. Told me that she wouldn’t take a recruiting trip to Hawaii because she knew if she did she’d sign. Dad was still here. spent much time here during summers.

Hawaii gets the best they can get, given their obstacles, more since the BCS came into the picture and that money has funneled into volleyball.

8. Don’t know if the bye week will hurt.it all depends on what the other teams do.

10. as for Taylor, she’s had ice packs all season. She’s been seeing specialists already. She isn’t 100 percent. but has improved to being almost there. The week off will help. She isn’t involved in many blocking drills. She does shots and electrotherapy.

I feel that if Hawaii wins out, they get in. The only ‘bad’ loss is to CSUN. The other losses all to ranked teams, three of those went five.

11. agree with Andrew. unless something drastic happens and she re-injures the blow, they aren’t sitting her.

Players like Taylor, Greeley/Kahakai, Castillo/Mitchem, and Iosia have been or will be gems as underclassmen.

if csun can keep their RPI in the 30s, they’ll get in, and the big west will have 3 bids to the tournament. but tough road for them, they still have davis, ucsb and irvine left to finish the season.

That doesn’t really make sense. They won’t know if they make the tournament until the end of the season so how could they rest Taylor for that? If they rest her and lose another game, then there will not be any post season tournament for them.

Moreover, if Hawaii receives an invitation to the NCAA regionals, it may be wise to rest Nikki Taylor for the rest of the season. After seeing the big ice pack on Nikki Taylor’s elbow and mention of an elbow specialist (during her interview) it is apparent that she is not 100%. She feels about 95%; however, she does not play front row in practice and they give her a “shot” before playing.

this is due to some teams leaving the big east. ironically, the teams that left the big east kept the “big east” as the name of their conference. and the original big east conference renamed itself the american athletic conference. but out of all this, an additional conference created an additional automatic bid.
