The sand VB team has a boatload of leftside hitters; and so, yes, some will be “forced” to play on the rightside.
Tiegs a rightside hitter is not released…very ‘Brigado’ (roll eyes)

My predictions for UH-WSVB this 2013:

(1) Long – Croson
(2/3) Lelepali – ManuOlevao / Urban – Kastl

(4) Johnson – Zalopany
(5) Riggs – Mount

Hah?

Shoji and Rosehill had some pretty good teams. But agree the Warriors didn’t do well against UCLA consistently. believe first win came in 83 (Shoji) after five straight losses. They beat the Bruins next in 86 (Rosehill).
UH made the championship tourney in 81, 82, 83, 86, 88, 89 and 92.
Wilton hired in 93. First time UH reached the final four was 95, then 96. 95 semis they lost to Penn State in five in Springfield, in 96 lost to UCLA in the final in five at UCLA.
Bruins hold a 59-21 series lead, including this year’s win by the Warriors.

I think Winder will be on the team. Was just pointing out the ages of the current roster setters if they stay through 16.

Everyone set, everyone hit. but i was was designated to take the pass if possible.
Besides this was the 60s and it wasn’t all that sophisticated. When I first exposed to the sport, there were 8 players on the court and rotation in an S pattern 3 front, 3 middle, 2 back. Server at right back would then rotate to left front.
San Diego has traditionally had good players. outdoor sport for the most part in those days. Only played in Muni Gym for tournaments and championships. and on the beach for fun during summer.

Why don’t you name a few prospective setters and I’ll give you the okay on whether they’re good for Rio OR not (as Kawika will be).

Erik will be there. Everyone knows that’s a given.

We’ll see who is there in the end. They had Suxho (USC) and Thornton (UCI) at the Olympics. Hansen (Stanford) was a backup. Suxho will be 40 in 16, Thornton 31, Hansen 34. Jonathan Winder (Pepperdine) on the current roster. He’s 6-8 and will be 30 in 16.
Shoji (Stanford) 6-3, would be 28 in Rio.
