34. I see Passi on the right over Long because I think Long is better on the left.
Long has definitely improved, think her success on the beach helped her ball-handling skills especially.
Think it’s going to come down who is the most consistent as to who plays the most.

33. Shoji happy with all his DSs, and that includes Ponce. She didn’t play a lot today.

It will be very interesting to see what Shoji does with Nikki, if she is not nearly 100% by the time the Conference Season starts. Will he wait on her, quite possibly playing only a quarter of the season, or will he redshirt her. I am only saying this cause Nikki mentioned she is only at 35% right now, which means she is still a long way off from even practicing, not to mention, getting into a match.

Greeley will be a 6 rotation player, she is that good. This will allow Dave to use Koelsch for blocking on a version of a 6/2 . She really protects the line.

I am going to take a wait and see attitude when it comes to Manu-Olevao. It is one thing to perform well in scrimmages, and another when the lights are on and it is for real. Want to see how she reacts when she gets blocked 2 or 3 times. Does her confidence go way down, or does she shake it off and keep attacking. Last year, her confidence would go way down, when she would get blocked 2, or 3, times. I also do not see Manu-Olevao playing the back row, unless her back row play has really improved.

31. Greeley will play this coming weekend, for sure Sunday when Manu-Olevao is out. I do feel it will be Passi on the right, eventually Greeley on the left and a battle between Long and Manu-Olevao for the other LS. When Taylor comes back, it’s going to make things very interesting.

Sorry if you have already explained this Cindy, but I’m wondering why you think Passi over Long. From what I saw today at the scrimmage, I’d make the ‘opposite’ choice. 😉 Did Passi have an off day today? Was Long playing out of her mind? Curious to hear your insight on their play today versus what you have seen over the last week plus. Thanks for your work and time.
