Schools often are denied in their first attempt at joining a new conference. Bakersfield was denied by the Big West twice after transitioning from Div. II to Div. I, and then once by the Western Athletic Conference before the WAC finally admitted it in 2013.

6. UCSD costs what the other UC schools do and that includes other Big West schools UC Santa Barbara, Irvine, Davis and Riverside.
8. think you mean UCSD not USD, the latter which is in the WCC. Tritons are committed for men’s volleyball. They were hoping all sports could move to DI status.
UCSD will be an affiliate member for men’s volleyball.
7. Grand Canyon is leaving the MIVA for men’s volleyball and coming over to the MPSF.

Unlike USD and SDSU it’s very hard to get into UCSD academically. A very good school, amazingly scenic and very expensive and they have to have one of the prettiest baseball fields on the West Coast.
