Looks like 3 UH sand teams advanced to top 8, Rooks/Brown, Spieler/Urban and Tiegs/Taylor

Looks like UH’s 4th team Schrieber/Tucker had to forfeit. I hope not because of an injury. big match coming up against USC.

Hope played their best set of the sites in that 2nd set. On the other hand they were also helped by sloppy play by Hawaii’s 2nd string. I was hoping that Wade would start the 2nd string again in the 3rd and 4th. The 2nd string was perfectly capable of winning the match and Hawaii’s 1st string was clearly superior to Hope’s team and shouldn’t have needed to bail out the 2nd string.

Hartley also needs to clean up his serve receive if he wants to keep his starting position.

21. Harsh observation don’t you think?
Hartley played both Set 1 and 2.
Hawaii has a deep bench. not like they got blown out and not like UH’s A team has won in sweeps

sigh…pity our B team lost to not even the top NAIA team =( So much for me earlier stating that our bench seems to have a lot of depth and not much drop off from the A team. But yay on our A team winning 25-10

I really don’t care about the AVCA rankings at this point. Just care that UH is in first in the league. Awesome, hope they win out and host MPSF quarter and semis. They now control their own destiny, win the regular season and a bid to NCAA final 6 is inevitable.

I too don’t think UH will go to #1. There is a high chance we may go to #2. I really have no clue who #1 will be. There is a chance that it will remain Loyola with UH getting a lot more #1 votes though.

Upsets at the top =

Lewis over Loyola
OSU over Lewis

Pepperdine over UCI

My best guess at the top of the coaches poll with the current matches played so far is as follows

1. Loyola (9 votes)
2. UH (7 votes)
3. UCI
4. Pepperdine and Lewis tie

Rationale = Loyola lost to #2 so not as much penalization. Lewis lost to someone out of the top 10 and drops from 2 to 4. Pepperdine rewarded by moving 1 up to #4 and UCI remains the same
