#107: maybe they knew that Ginger would be graduating and would not be back. The team may actually have a 4th scholarship now available.

So if Passi did not leave there would not have been enough scholarships for the 3 incoming recruits. After the 3 NLIs were received and confirmed Passi departed.
Did the Hawaii coaches know beforehand that Passi was leaving? How else do you explain 3 incoming recruits and only 2 scholarships available?

100. glad you reversed the attention grabbing supposition. It was going to be reported that she wasn’t at practice Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. UH had to have an answer for her absence and when she would be expected to return. Rather than keep the questions dangling. UH made the decision to say she was no longer with the team. Not going to stop speculation but it was a definite answer.

103. Yes, it was a requirement for football to remain in the WAC.
104. thanks. They are split because the Big West doesn’t sponsor football and the Mountain West deal was a football-only membership.

cindy, i forgot to ask in the other blog you had said that the reason hawai’i joined the WAC was:

“because The WAC began requiring that all member schools move all sports to the WAC so Hawaii San Jose St Fresno St. etc moved over”

what? so does that mean hawai’i left pcaa/big west and joined the wackity wack because WAC simply demanded it?

Cindy, is great. Answers as much questions as possible. Tells it like it is and will be diplomatic when needed to and will make her point where and when it too is needed. Very wise in controlling her bloggers and makes it interesting for one to come and read and blog.

99 But in true fairness to Passi, medical conditions or personal matters which might preclude continued practice/participation and force immediate absences would also attract attention — and sans announcement, generate all kinds of speculation. So like someone said above, danged if you do, danged if you don’t. Apologies to the Passis for even mentioning the supposition of an ‘attention grab.’
