They need to bring back the SCREAM-O-METER thing, where the crowd screams when the opposing team goes to serve. I remember it would get loud when the opposing team goes to serve, but they don’t have that anymore since they upgraded the new screens. Or at least put up a graphic to yell/scream when the other team serves. Need to utilize the fans more and create an intimidating arena and make it tough on them when they go up to serve.

wow that loss to asu brought the wahine to almost the bottom of the totem pole. they are endangered from going post-season. no more unnecessary fanfare from the crowd making the wahine more nervous or distracted. and they serious need to get passing and serving down. and i should add as evidenced vs asu, striking an opponent away from their arms or even legs like passi did to sdsus libero since the wahine couldnt get the ball down in asus court since they keep popping it back up.

one curious thing was why this match had full support including from the cheer/manoa maniacs when vs asu where it was crucial had no support until middle of set 2 and it was only a fraction/half support? also the crowd cheering lets go bows seem to be effectless for now. they kind of died down or got the picture. let us hope that the opposing team dont feed off that energy like what byu did as a result of unnecessary fanfare from the crowd when its not approriate. either its making them more nervous or its distracting the wahine players.

higgins jump serve power is pretty moderate in punch which should be efficient and sound in contrast to her fellow punahou classmate tai manuolevaos serve is a light moderate standing floater. perhaps they need to engineer tais serve to be somewhat stronger. both olevaos serve and backrow passing seems to be better this year so far.

Surprised to see so much said about Mendoza who tied the Hawaii record held by Ashley Watanabe 10/22/05 for number of digs in 3 sets…24 on Friday! Congratulations! Against San Diego she had 24 digs and played all over the court. Currently running a 5.3 digs per set. Yes, she was way off on Saturday, was hoping all was ok with her since that wasn’t the way we have seen her play in the past year, seems liked she worked through it once Shoji pulled her shirt. I was a defensive player so, that is what I know and I am very impressed with this lady and think you all should check out the numbers and honor her local ties here by not just commenting on a few plays.

In reply to tsboy. They are still playing around with the serving and passing rotation. would not be surprised to see her serve this weekend. You don't see the middles serve and the Wahine have some excellent DSs. You saw Guinasso last night, solid server from years on the beach. Magill never served at Arizona but she's been told she may have to. You saw that Saturday when they ran out of subs.
