12. IMHO it wasn’t really late notice. They gave her the spring to make her decision.
Don’t remember hearing Shoji say they turned people away because of no scholarship. but i’m sure I could have easily missed that.
What i do remember being told by Shoji, and this was after Hagins and Stauber left fairly early in spring was they weren’t planning on bringing anyone in.

12. It was mentioned in passing by Shoji about not wanting to see her in the fall. but he said it with a laugh. Agree with much of what you said Haleiwa.
Shoji told me today that there has been no release.

I don’t think it was about playing against her this fall, I think not granting her release had something to do with the lateness of informing the coaches she was transferring. It didn’t allow them to bring someone in. Dave said he turned people away at the beginning of spring because there was no scholarship available. If Jane decided earlier that she wanted to transfer, he could have used her scholarship towards an incoming transfer.

She left them stranded with the late notice. I don’t feel she should be rewarded for her late notice to play this season.

Jay should honor Dave’s decision, especially since Dave has a history of releasing players. So this is not the norm for Dave, so the reason, I feel, was justified.

Also I may add give Croson more time to straighten out her personal problems that caused her suspension at UH.

This is my personal opinion on the Jane Croson transfer matter. Shoji does not want to give Croson an official release. Newbie Ben Jay should respect Shoji’s decision and follow suit. Dave Rubio has been Shoji’s friend for a long time and too should respect his decision. IMHO the best decision for all parties is Croson to redshirt this season. This redshirting will also put her in the same class as her best friend (a key decision to transfer to Arizona) Halli Amaro, so they can play both indoors and sand together for 2014/2016 seasons.

LC, hadn’t heard about Jay giving Croson her total release on appeal but it does make sense. Didn’t feel like UH had a strong case in denying her the release to begin with other than they didn’t want to play against her this fall.
It does hinge on whether she is academically eligible and has junior standing when fall semester starts.
As you mention, she is on the roster and presumably enrolled in summer school.
The only thing I was told was that Rubio was the only coach to contact Shoji about Croson as a potential transfer last spring.

Need verification on this because I don’t like rumors.

Our AD granted Croson a no conditions release on her appeal that will allow her to play this year at the SSC this that is if she is academically eligible at Arizona by fall.Croson is presently enrolled in the summer session at Arizona and on the roster.

I never did get a clear picture from Shoji’s statement on this matter. I was under the impression that his release stated that she could transfer to any school but wouldn’t be able to play this year in the SSC.
