Facts are that Shoji, as one acquaintance relayed to me, who is also an acquaintance with Shoji, does have a general fear of playing a freshman who is unfamiliar with because he has to consider the players ability to handle the pressure as well as the team dynamic. Not sure if I understand that but whatever. To me it is his choice even if I think it makes no sense. Freshman come to play and want to play. Trust in them and provide them with all the resources you have. It’s a little stale. Top programs bring in freshman to lead their teams and give them the chance to grow. It’s and investment and it allows for future phenom freshmen to want to come because they know they will be given a fair shot.
