MG, the sport is young and there is little money at the moment. But it appears that the NCAA is on the verge of sanctioning it as a championship sport next year, a year ahead of schedule, so that could help with some money.
UH has a hard enough time getting teams here for indoor and covering some of the expenses. true that sand squad is smaller than indoor but there is still a cost.
I believe that UH put in a bid to host the national tournament, either last year or this, but it wasn’t accepted. In part due to the lack of the number of courts. You can only have 6 courts at Queen’s and places such as Hermosa and Florida can put up over a dozen.
I think it’s possible that you’ll see more teams come out to Hawaii and be ‘fairer’ to the Wahine. But it will cost and all hinges on the generosity of the schools’ athletic budgets.

Those match-ups would be good pairings on the sand!! Sand volleyball is still in the early stages and UH has a pretty young team as well. This season is definitely a growing/building season and most of the players will be returning. Purple&Green, I’ve heard the same about Croson. She’s completely burnt out and it shows in her demeanor and play in the court. Time for her to take some time off or choose between indoor and sand.

I would try both if i were Wong. Pair up Riggs with Teigs and Longo with Rooks.

Both play great defensively but need to be paired up with a taller teammate. Would hate to see these two off the sand in any way. They are both fighters and fierce competitors. New pairing possible next season with all the new recruits coming in and Brittany in the mix. Thoughts??

Cindy, what are the chances that colleges start to travel to Hawaii and give the girls some much need rest and a little home court advantage??? Seems only fair that a few of these West Coast colleges travel to Hawaii next season. Just a thought as it seems our team could use a little UH fan-based tournaments!! GO BOWS!!!

2. Kirby Burnham-Cinammon Sary def. Natasha Bell-Tai Manu-Olevau (21-15, 22-20)
4. Ali Longo-Karlee Riggs def. Brooke Fournier-Alexa Stonish (17-21, 22-20, 15-11)

I am assuming the other three pairs played Pepperdine duos
