Alicia Mills: LB

Hawaii’s * “ball-handling” * starters (as Nishida/J. Long were somewhat in the mix..more Long than Nishida but nevertheless neither of them were as consistant as Taeatafa would’ve been..so Babes Kalulu_Cubi-Otineru stepped into the OH2 spot for controll, primarily)

1. Teee
2. Babes

1. Karrie
2. Mary

1. Cheri

1. Malin

They could’ve been one of the best all-time. 🙁

Again, the Wahine lost to the Beach in 5. Both teams were without one of their starters due to injury that year; Toni Nishida for Hawaii & 6’2 red head lefty from the Beach ( i forget her name ).

I could see a little bit of brains dementor last year when they came to hawaii. He seemed cocky and like a cry baby, but I thought I was the only one. Never knew it was that bad. Thanks for the wahine history Cindy! 🙂

20. 89. it was quite the shocker, especially since Uh was hosting the final four for the first time.
But the Beach played well, beat UOP and then UH. It was the first year they used rally score in Set 5
I picked that year because it was the first time the 49ers beat Hawaii when it really mattered.

I learn something new everyday on this blog. I’m only 20, so I don’t know much about the wahine before 2003. I knew the beach and hawaii were rivals, but I didn’t know they had such a history and disliking. Us wahine fans are usually the nicest to the opposing team, so it shcoked me to find out a team was actually booed.

Cindy, was it because Long Beach knocked out the Wahine (at UOP Stockton regionals) from hosting its own Final Four? I remembered that disaster pretty well.

This ‘feud’ has been going on since 1989 probably. continued in the early 90s until UH moved to the WAC.

BYU a tough place to play, fans or no fans. However, I have witnessed many times where UH players were harassed for their ethnicity, both men and women.
It has happened at BYU, UCLA, UCSB, Cal Poly, The Beach, among others … so I wouldn’t single out BYU.

I mean this past year when they came to the Stanley, I could see them being a little cocky and Whiney, as was their coach. But I honestly didn’t know it wqs this had
