i didn’t catch all of what bobby said on the morning show yesterday. but i do remember him commenting (when talking about maglio’s developing her beach game) how it bodes well for her, because there seems to more opportunities on the beach, than indoors, after college. and that the beach game can be more lucrative. but then he pointed to kerri walsh and misty may as the prime example of that. … but walsh and may were the exception, and not the rule, for how playing beach can be profitable (earnings-wise and sponsorship-wise). few beach players will reach walsh/may status on the domestic and FIVB tours …

8. Just wondering what did Bobby say?

I think Beach volleyball is actually fun and exciting to watch. Saturday when all three remaining flights with UCLA were in deciding third sets, It was as exciting as a big time indoor match.
I also like watching great shorter players play offense (like Katie Spieler)
UH will have two Katie Speiler type players in the future with Presley Forbes and Sydney Kidd, two very Short but very dynamic beach players.

Caught you on Bobby’s show this AM. You are a true ambassador for the sport of volleyball in general and U of Hawaii in particular. I cringed at Bobbies comment about why he thought beach volleyball was gaining such popularity. You let him have his antiquated view. You are too kind!

2. i had been told it would be Sunday but obviously not.
4. no idea when it will happen. Would think with Moniz-Kaho’ohanohano done with all her beach volleyball committee work and back in Hawaii that there will be a push.
5. They only took one pair from each flight. Hughes and Claes easily the best there
6. they weren’t going to pick Homayun-Rooks over the USC pair. unless maybe Homayun-Rooks’ last match had finished, then they would have been 4-0.

Also Homayon/Rooks went undefeated this tourney and were about to beat UCLA again before play was stopped, I would have honored them instead althoough Long and Tucker were great.

I thought FSU’s first flight should have honored as well, they were solid.
And Shucht/Taylor dominated Bonomi/Schultz.

I think FSU had the most fans , which makes sense because they are a lot closer to Gulf Shores.
