Still having issues so at the office to post.
Hope everyone had a Thanksgiving

6. good question about how many Wahine make the first team Would think Taylor and Magill but that may be all.
There is no Most Improved ‘-)

7. see new thread mentioning Mitchem Not to spoil it but no, she isn’t.

Thanks to the UH and its supporters.

Thanks to this year’s Rainbow Wahine. Righted the ship from the start-go: started off with AVCA #18 (worst start in poll ranking history) and moved to #8 (with room to move up further) and peaking at that perfect time.

Thanks to the Star-Advertisr for providing sports fans with full coverage of the Rainbow Wahine year after year.

Thanks to Cindy and her blog.

And the waiting continues: Selection Sunday followed by Big West All-Conference Team Monday (or is it Tuesday). Think we all know who will be Big West POY, FOY, and COY. Just don’t know how many Wahine will make the First Team (5?) but if there was (there isn’t) something called Most Improved Player either our sophomore middle or libero should get that award.

(Personally didn’t watch on TV any vball today. Watched the Macy’s Parade and loved it!)

Regardless of RPI, if UCLA beats Stanford on the 27th, Hawaii will host… Sick and Tired of Seattle.

It’s Thanksgiving for Pete’s sake! Very sad! It is a sad commentary of us wahine fans. Just kidding – Happy Thanksgiving!

Glued to the TV past 8pm watching the PAC 12 match between USC and UCLA.
It was a tremendous match and i hope they replay it for those who missed it. UCLA seems to be peaking and USC seems to be slipping a bit from early form. I thought Mick Haley was a distraction to his team when he sometimes goes off on officiating like he did in the loss to Washington. In any event I hope Na Wahine was watching as it provides a great look as to what Hawaii will be facing in the later rounds. I agree with #1 that if anything will help Hawaii compete, it should be our blocking. I think Hawaii’s block is as good as or better than what I’ve seen from the top-five. UCLA’s back row defense in the match was amazing. All of them have strong OHs that make an impression: Bricio and Anderson and UCLA’s young right side Nagauamo was impressive. Actually more than anything, i believe it was UCLA’s floor defense that won the match for them. Now back to the turkey!

This post is to pay homage to all those people who watched matches of other teams ranked higher than us in RPI and accumulated stats and results. I finally and sincerely feel your pain. Although the matches I watched on ESPNU on demand were snippets of the last match, and was at the end of October/beginning of November, I can’t believe I was seeing 4 teams ranked higher than UH in the RPI play as terrible as they did, IMHO. Those teams were Penn State (9), Ohio State (11), Missouri (17) and Texas A & M (10). How are these teams ranked higher!?! Yeah, I give lots of kudos to Penn State, but give me a break on the other teams. Yeah, yeah, I know the answer Maverick. But based on what I observed, Hawaii could DEFINITELY compete with these people on a higher level. Some things I observed was the formation of their blocks on step outs or middle hits…not fast enough and not coordinated enough. The blocks on the outside were too slow often leaving 1 person to block instead of a double block. Not ONCE did I see a triple block formed on a pipe set. No wonder we’re #1 in blocks in the country. Our jump serves would definitely have an impact, even on a bad night for us, our passing and serve receive is better…etc etc. You all know the drill. I finally have shared the frustration that you all have posted about gaining or soliciting respect for the UH Wahine Volleyball team! GO BOWS!
