My main gripe is that Yes hawaii lost but they are far from a 24 ranked team. When hawaii got those first place votes I think he ranked them at 8. I may be wrong on that. That’s still pretty low. Cook is An amazing coach and has done amazing things for nebraska but I just really don’t like him

i actually think that’s reasonable. it’s his opinion. losing those 3 matches in such a short span can easily justify a dramatic drop in the rankings, even if most other coaches opted not to do it.

after hawaii lost to ucsb at home, cook still had hawaii at 9. that sounds like he was giving hawaii the benefit of the doubt, at least. that, to me, doesn’t sound like someone out to disparage hawaii … imo.

Coach Shoji has made subtle adjustments here and there. Hopefully he doesn’t fall in love again with several players that drag the team down when they play poorly and will not hesitate to yank if they blink in the regionals. Right now we are playing well enough to challenge should we host. That is all that matters–peaking on the positive side of the curve during the playoffs.
