Doubt if it’s worth it.

The coaching staff has had many discussions on types of serves. High risk-high reward vs. consistently getting it in.
In the case of Manu-Olevao, as she has stated, she puts a lot of pressure on herself and that showed when she had the serving errors early and it took her mentally out of the game.
She has settled in nicely since being a little safer but that doesn’t mean it is an easy serve to handle. They’ve asked her to move back and go with the high lob rainbow, something that Kahakai. Something to also considered is the serving plan from the coaches. That dictates the area.

there was one comment way up there about what Ann wrote four years ago. It’s not how our business works by deflecting issues. She wrote about what was in front of her, which was Manu-Olevao’s vertical. had nothing to do with the Croson situation other than Manu-Olevao had replaced her in the lineup.
Disagree about the comment about her current vertical. when she gets the right approach and timing, it’s still impressive.

Anyway, links and new thread up for Saturday.

Isles. Much Mahalos for the link. I followed it and it took me to screen with the wahine poised for battle and a message that said, “The event you have selected will be available on replay. Please check back soon.” I hope that really does work and they’re not pulling our leg. Maybe all that complaining and inquiring of ours worked!

Just like when Maverick contacted OC Sports (well we all complained) about leaving out the player introductions, they’ve gone back to it. I hope they’ll stay with it if we have any more home matches this year. Power to the people! LOL! GO BOWS!

they’re either always criticism something.

regarding TMO’s serve, the one statistic that you won’t find in the stat sheets are how many serving runs TMO was able to have because she went away from her inconsistent jump serve. one stat you can find in the stat sheets are total number of service attempts TMO has which is 153 and leading the team. so not only is she keeping her serves in more consistently but she’s giving opposing teams problems and creating opportunities for hawaii to score off her flat footed float serve which in the end allows her to serve more.

now can we move on to something else?

tayler higgins spin serving though comes natural to her besides consistent so she can do that. i suppose she designed herself that long before she even met tai in high school.

If your TV has a HDMI puka you can hook up your computer to your TV with a HDMI cable and watch it on your TV. Northridge has a good broadcast with announcer. Not as good as UH but better than nothing.

It is section 104. Section 103 is right next to 104 and 103 is right above where UH team starts. Section 103 was almost all UH fans but there were many UH fans in 103 above The Beach booster club. Also UH fans on opposite side of the Pyramid.

The one that he complained the most was the most obvious one, the back row attacker when the setter touched the ball at the net. LBSU does have a really big home crowd, but for some reason they sit on the opposite side of the cameras and on the end where the band is. The UH crowd sat on the side with the players/coaches and camera. Maybe it’s because we had to pay more for those seats and have the backrests (most seats are the bleacher types).

I thought it was funny that when TMO would serve her cheering section would make her smile before the sets. I had the Kahakai and TMO families in front of me and they were a great bunch of people.

The younger refs were not intimidated by Coach Gimmillaro and often waved him off. the gentlemen seated next to Tai’s Dad shouted out very loudly for Brian to sit down and stop holding up the match, and then the rest of us joined in. Lots of fun!
