Fair warning. Some of this speculation is bordering on libel and there seems to be enough lawyers here to understand what I mean.
I don’t care if you put it out as conjecture or try to pass it off as plausible scenarios.
It begins to border on defamation of character and none of you want to be a party to a lawsuit.

Freedom of speech is one thing. Libel is another.

People, people, people.
The Hall and Huff issues are totally unrelated. So please just stop the speculation that one had something to do with the other. Can we just put this to rest?
Huff made the decision on her own.

Spoke to Beeman today. She said she and Shoji were fine about the time-share with Huff. And that is surprised her as well. Also said that 19-year-olds make decisions that 19-year-olds make.

As for Hall, it is an internal matter. Matlin said it was a personnel matter and handled it as an AD should. Whatever happened it wouldn’t be Shoji’s job to suspend an assistant. If it was a violation of some sort, then that’s what would have been said. With so much stuff going on with NCAA investigations. the last thing UH would do is try to do is cover it up. They’d be hit with lack of institutional control.

The fact that they even said anything shows transparency, albeit vague. How many would have noticed he wasn’t on the bench? Would have been easy enough to think he was out on a recruiting trip or sick like some of the players or dealing with two sick young children as a single dad.

How did Dick Tracy come to the conclusion Hall’s suspension had something to do with Huff’s decision to quit volleyball? Did he use his stealthy ninja skills to ferret out this information.

Now that Hall has a blemished record, he may not qualify for the head coaching job once Dave Shoji retires. He might leave permanently on his own accord.

#40 Agree. The lack of transparency however will serve to make it worse than it is. I know a good PR firm they should consult. The whole AD should keep them on retainer. Maybe the whole of UH.
