looking at the season stats, Hartley hasn’t played all year. perhaps HC Charlie Wade is trying to redshirt him or he’s just really far down on the OH depth chart. yes he played sparingly in the last two seasons

Former Wahine assistants used to stand on box to hit balls down on the players as well as put up a bigger block. There are some rules regarding who can practice against women’s teams. Believe it can’t be varsity male athletes but have to be students enrolled at the institution. NCAA strict on that issue. Also depends on numbers, such as not having enough for full scrimmages. I know that when Ryan Tsuji was in the Wahine program he had to be cleared to practice with the team because he wasn’t a student but a volunteer. this was when Kari Ambrozich was on maternity leave, if I remember correctly.

It would be no contest. It’s why some women’s programs choose to use male practice players to simulate more power and higher block. You lower the net, let’s just compare setters. Uiato at 5-8 is no match for Wechsung at 6-6. Men can put up 6-6, 6-5, 6-6 front row. Wahine have no corresponding height. they might win some rallies just on defense but not over a whole match.
