I shoudl declare also that it’s Fri. 9/20/13, UH vs. Creighton, 12:00p HST and Sat. 9/21/13, UH @Wichita State, 12:00p HST.

In any case, UH goes 28-3 on the year (25-2 regular season; 15-1 conference/1 loss “Away”)

UH,South Dakota and Creighton have all put out different dates on their posted schedules,no one seems to be on the same page.

Hawai`i schedule for example starts the tournament on the 19th against South Dakota but South Dakota says they play 2 matches on the 21st and one is against Hawai`i

I do think Creighton might be the only one who has it correct so far.Lamb has a history of putting the WSU schedule out late even though it is completed.

I dare NOT share this on VT as there are coaches, in cognito, who’d just assume that Chris Lamb IS the next UH Mano’a WVB coach (or something).
*Shoji is blessed to have Chris as a dear friend; can’t say, forwardly, the same for The Summit League.

7. you might remember as well that she had knee surgery after playing for the Wahine basketball team for a year. Believe Taras Liskevich was the coach and he visited her after surgery to tell her he still wanted her on the Olympic team.

Today’s USVA tournament results in the 18s.
Imi Ike 2 wins 1 loss, Robyn Ah Mow-Santos head coach, players Nikki Taylor, Hannah Rooks.
Kuikahi Wahine 2 wins 1 loss, Taylor Higgins.
Laguna Beach 2 wins 1 loss, Kendra Koelsch.
Rancho Valley, 3 wins, Kalei Greeley.

What I remember ( now some 20, or so, years later..post ’88 Olympics..just pre-UNLV OR was it just post- ) …

Anyway, she was most definitely NOT physcially in Olympic shape, but she could still VERY MUCH have at that vb I’ll declair. da Girl could ‘C’rank!!

It was at Palama Gym for one of those local/Open Women’s tourneys and ‘Wiz’ (for those on VT who know of whom I speak) and others had convinced her to play with their squad for a few go-arounds. It might have been at Haili time as everyone was gearing up for Hilo…Deitre was/is such a gamer.

Much class, too.

She does VERY much love Hawai’i. She’s, over the years, ALWAYS had MUCH good to say about the Aloha State.

She’s my “sister” from a different mother.
We share the same Father tho.

1. Ron, what I remember most is that UH didn’t make a big deal about it at the time. We were off of Waikiki for a postseason sail and swim with the team on a Saturday when Shoji told me about it. I know we scrambled to get a photo when she won. Believe the banquet was in Houston that year. It wasn’t the huge deal it is now, with the ESPN coverage. First award was for the 76-77 school year.

2. Grammy, San Diego State decided against joining the Big West so the Aztecs won’t be regulars at the SSC.
Perhaps there wasn’t wall-to-wall coverage and definitely no TV, but both papers covered the Wahine in the 70s and early 80s extensively. Ann and I both were there when the team won the NCAA titles in 82 and 83. Randy Cadiente was with the team in 79 for the Bulletin (forget who the ‘Tiser sent). It was before Ann and I were hired.
TV and radio came along in the late 80s.
