The blocking is just so bad.” You sure have a short memory. And I’m still wondering what happened to the ‘great coach’ at BYU and Long Beach, and against OSU and Penn State.

Why would you assume I’m related to one of the players? Just because I stick of for a team of young men (most of whom get nothing or very little except the love of the sport) who get dumped on by the likes of you and others hiding behind online names, while the head coach, who gets paid a decent salary and SIGNED UP for the scrutiny gets a free pass?

I guess I’ve tipped my hand, Warriofan…I’m related to all of ’em. In spirit. Unless you’ve ever been the target of anonymous bullies as a young person, or witnessed the result first-hand, you’ll never understand it.

You think those guys need Wade to tell them to target Pepperdine’s best player with serves? Riiiiiiiight. I also seem to recall you heralding Wade for giving them a chance to play D1 ball when they didn’t belong there, and your very comment “…it wasn’t because they were more talented…” screams insult. UH won because they were the BETTER TEAM. Period.

As for talent, you dumped on Taylor Crabbe whose credentials are as good as anyone’s in the MPSF, not to mention BYU with the beyond-impressive Taylor Sander and a 26 year old setter who brings a ton of maturity and skill to the game. Where was the brilliant coaching mind at those matches? You dumped on Ohio State and Penn State as being ‘second rate,’ but again, the super tactician apparently was AWOL.

I think this team wins in spite of Wade, not because of him or anything he does. And when they were 1-6 I had no doubts, nor did several others. I knew they’d find a way to win.

And saying players need to cut down their errors is hardly “dumping” on players it’s just the truth… this team’s biggest weakness is that they are error prone, Wade even mentioned it that they are working on being more efficient.

Wade clearly outcoached Dunphy by having his players target Taylor with their serves. Taylor looked tired having to pass all game long. He also made a great move by starting Sedore at opposite. And you mean to tell me that Pepperdine wasn’t the more talented team with their all american and big time recruit Josh Taylor and junior national team starting setter West? Well UH beat them and it wasn’t because they were more talented…

Also Sedore Has played more sets than any other OH besides Siki/JP so your argument that Wade didn’t play him much is not true. And NO he has not always been that good , not based on the previous stats Sedore put up. He had career games back to back last weekend and it’s obvious it was because of the move to opposite. Sedore even stated in his interview that he never played on the right before so it was obviously a risk that payed off.

When their record was 1- 6 I I had my doubts (who didn’t??) They were coming close and still losing like many times last year but it seems they have turned things around. We will see against stanford it was was just dumb luck…

You seem to always dump on the players when they lose, but heap accolades on Wade when they win. This very young team has been doing much what I and others have said – getting their feet under them and finding their stride after starting at what is arguably one of the toughest venues in the MPSF, while you denigrated those comments as ‘the same excuses as last year.’

I’m sure Sedore has always been that good – but Wade for some unknown reason didn’t play him much. I’m sure Ramos has always been the setter he’s been in all their wins, but Wechsung got the nod until he got hurt because it seems Wade is obsessed with having a tall setter. Not dumping on Wechsung, just appears Ramos clicks better with the group which is currently on fire. I think Wade probably is more deserving of the dumb luck award.

I really hope the announcer at the arena is given the memo that he wants to be called Siki.
