USC beat Hawai’i Last Year. Calhoun was not cut but graduated and got her undergraduate degree at USC and will be attending grad school in Hawaii. If you want to talk about talent pool. Calhoun is from California… which has a bigger talent pool then both Hawaii and Washington. Calhoun was rated the 34th best Forward in the nation in her class!!!

And Washington is a state with a much larger talent pool than Hawaii in girls basketball!!!

UH did recruit Magill but she had her heart on playing in the Pac-12. Had hoped it would be at UW but didn’t happen. She has relatives on several islands.
this is the quote from the story I wrote back in March
“I thought UH was too far away,” she said. “I grew up with my family very close by, my grandparents live on our cul-de-sac.

“I think I’ve matured since then, grew up, and decided I wanted to transfer to an elite program, some place different than the Pac-12. I really liked Hawaii.”

Heck, Adolpho said she wanted to play three sports here when she first committed.

Staradvertiser reiterated that. I agree about the LMU player but only mentioned her as another Big in addition to Sampton and Calhoun. Huff would not start in front of Hampton nor Calhoun. Being one of the best in your state does not make you best on your team. Kalei adolpho was one of the best basketball players in Hawai’i yet not much of a contributor in college. I believe Huff is still a good basketball player just not a starter.

Those basketball recruits don’t seem very impressive to me at all, Only Sampton, the USC and LMU transfer barely played at both those schools and it’s not like they are perennial powers LMU was terrible. Huff was considered one of the best post players in the state of washington.

And no it doesn’t matter, just curious.
