What I passed along today was something I was told earlier this season from someone within the men’s volleyball program. And they still aren’t happy with what happened.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if USCB loses to USC in the quarters. I think pepperdine just looked flat.

for #13 or 14 on flying in from neighbor islands for wvb

i flew from maui for about 5 years (including season tickets) to watch the wahine. great experience. I would get in the day before or early in the morning, get a car rental, bum around. I would leave for ssa real early (from Pearl City) because i knew about honolulu rush hour traffic. maybe this will help

ucsb has been kind of an enigma this season. great win over pepperdine, snapping pepp’s home win streak (22 in row?) … but odd losses to csun, lbsu, and even a faltering usc late in the season.

still though, ucsb has a lot of balance which they showed tonight against pepp. they will be a potentially dangerous team in the playoffs. if the standings hold, they will be on hawaii’s side of the draw in the mpsf tournament.

Wow UCSB just beat Pepp in Malibu.
Leaves a little breathing room for the at large in case UH doesn’t win the MPSF tourney,
but still if UH goes 7-0 and they are mpsf and national champions!!

i don’t think tuileta would’ve been at the signing ceremony, if he didn’t have a scholarship offer from hawaii (for football). because it was also determined he didn’t sign an LOI for USC, b/c he was joining the football team as a preferred walk-on.

8. got a clarification and seems what I was initially told was the condensed version.
Sooooo NCAA regulation says player can be released if new coach comes in. School has to officially release player and it then goes to the NCAA. In this case, Sunahara granted the release.

13 Thanks Cindy. Don’t live there so i only get to see Wahine’s when they televise their matches. Few years ago i flew out to watch a match and it was a disaster.
Flight got in late,hit the traffic from airport to UH and to top it off the ticket lines was unreal, By the time we got in they were in their second set,and the match didn’t last long cause the Wahine swept the other team.That was my first and last trip to the SSC.

8. not the way it was explained to me. but that person could be incorrect. either way, she can’t sign another NLI. It’s a scholarship offer.

11. I wasn’t there at signing day. Was told that UH did not have an offer letter for him to sign and so he opted for USC.

12. Ali is still here. has been working with the indoor team. If you came to the Texas match she was there.
