..Inexpensive yet innocuous..entertainment I like.

Don’t think Kawika ready to start a family. But Meaghan, his soon to be wife, has a job where he is playing.

Not sure what you mean about perfection. Yogi and Erik Shoji are a couple. Believe both are 23-24

and don’t what you mean about 74 and Marilyn. Shoji’s age of retirement? If so, very seriously doubt that she knows anymore about when it will happen than the rest of us. As Charlie Brande and I discussed yesterday, it likely will be at least 2 years. Reaching 40 years in the job sounds good. But if he were to win it all this year, he could choose to walk away then.
Shoji still enjoying coaching too much. When he doesn’t, then he’ll retire.

‘live stats’ are not sponsored. That is up to the sports information department to have a stats crew and the teams wanting it..
who needs to be convinced is TV to do the game, which then would have stats. or radio to have live streaming, which would include stats.

9. Shoji was 28 when he took over the Wahine in 75 Different world now for collegiate athletics.
UH will not hire anyone with a lack of coaching experience at this level. And who knows if Kawika even wants to coach. He’s playing in Europe, is in the mix for the 2016 Olympic team and likely 2020. He’s getting married later this month.

Dedicatedfan — i would say these are very different times. how many major vball programs now give out head coaching jobs to 27-year-olds with no coaching experience? kawika may be a head coach someday (if he’s even interested in that path), but odds are next to zero that he’d be offered a head coach position as his very next job after playing professionally at age 27. that’s a transition that just does not translate in this day and age. shoji getting the job the way he did was simply a reflection of that era. and we don’t live in that era anymore.

Cindy, I believe Dave was slightly younger then 25 when he took over being the Wahine HC. Kawika will be 27 by the time the 2016 Olympics is over. Old enough to become HC. The question is, can Dave hold on for another 3 years.

5. Kawika will not be the next Wahine coach. He has a long playing career ahead of him first. He’s only 25. Don’t even know if he wants to coach, or coach women.

We would be so lucky to have Kawika take over for his dad. He is smart and very personable and would be great at recruiting. He would benefit from working with his dad for at least one year. I guess it depends how much Dave has left in the tank. Any degree from Stanford means you competed with the best and brightest and succeed.
