Riley Wallace would beg to differ about the purpose of the arena. Wahine volleyball sold out the Blaisdell a couple of times, but that was a major point of the film in that Donnis Thompson wanted matches played there to prove it could be done. that was in the 1970s.
Last time they sold out the Blaisdell was 81 vs. UCLA.
They used the Blaisdell several times for the HAL Classic. but they didn’t use it often partly because of the rental fee. They did draw well,

not saying that the complaint isn’t legit. But someone mentioned the Sunday paper which, during football season, has the 8-page ‘Blitz’ that is a wraparound the main section. And the main section has the Wahine on the cover. We’ve been lucky to have photographers on the mainland for the away games. There have been numerous times that my re-writes have no photos from the match.
There are some deadline-related issues that sometimes force the stories to be played in certain ways. Not saying it’s right or fair but sometimes just the way it is.

that audience persons complaint is legit. i have a copy of other than sunday paper and wahine volleyball is usually sandwiched in the sports page between football with football being the first headline on the top of the page followed by the last thing on the bottom of the page and the football talks about how they lost. the wahine is typically sandwiched or in the middle not simply cover.

Perhaps it’s because this is the last chance for autograph session? The final two home matches are at 8 p.m. (if they’re lucky since basketball is before) and that final Saturday is senior night?

Still it shouldn’t come at the expense of the boosters.
