don’t see that happening

I can see possibly four teams dropping out. Utah is going to enter probably Duke as well.

it’s not as exciting to talk about the non-pac-12 schools that were on hawaii’s schedule, but new mexico, st. john’s, utah st, san francisco and northern arizona also suffered losses this past weekend (going either 1-1 or 0-2 for the weekend). these losses will also impact hawaii’s RPI, just as much. hawaii’s RPI fate is tied to more than just the pac-12 schools …

ohio has been a bright spot for hawaii’s RPI. they’ve gone undefeated in their conference, and their overall record stands at 23-4.

northern arizona has also been solid for hawaii’s RPI (despite taking a loss this pas weekend). they’re 20-7 on the season.

If they beat Davis next week Thursday then they clinch a share of the Big West title mathematically. Realistically, Long Beach is poised to win the Big West title as it stands, even if Davis managed to upset them next week because they’ll win the rest of their matches and no one will catch up with them.

As for Utah vs. Washington, I wished I could have watched that match. I read that Washington had two match points on the fourth set but couldn’t convert and was ahead 10-7 in the fifth set but Utah made a huge comeback. Also, Adora had an accidental kill in the fourth set.

I agree with Cindy that no one could make Adora choose UH. I even tried to convince her when I met her at the state championship match in Keeau, Big Island, but she already made up her mind that Utah is where she wanted to go.

No matter how much you want a local recruit to stay home and play for Hawaii, if they want to go to school away from home there is nothing you can do. In the long run I think it is good for local kids to go away to school. I know it was for me.
