19. yeah hartong needs to work on her passing as you can see she shanked the ball on the first serve at the beginning of the video so the weaker opponent in the swiss league right away picked on the new player and easily aced her with a float.

the video is set at when hartong makes the kill and then runs a couple or so of her jump serves which shes still decent there.

RISE OF THE WAHINE wins the audience award for Best Documentary at the recently completed Fall 2014 Hawaii International Film Festival!

The audience award for Best Documentary Feature goes to RISE OF THE WAHINE, directed by Dean Kaneshiro. Set in the 1970s, the film is centered on a small band of minority pioneers from Hawaii who battled through racial and gender barriers–locally and nationally, socially and legally–that wouldn’t allow girls to play sports.

Agree that 6-2 was generous. and that was in regards to being an MB. no one is arguing that she was one of the best all-around athletes to play for the Wahine.
20. haven’t heard the ‘lots of people’ calling for Hagglund as Hawaii’s next libero.
please enlighten as to where that is coming from.

FSU setter & hitters did not “sync” and Duke’s split blocks did the job. Hawaii sets much slower, balls go almost straight up before coming down (easier to hit, harder to set.) Normally, the faster set is harder to block.

Warriorfan, I believe that the concept of having a tall middle has changed (unless you have the 6’5″+ protype middle), as teams are running much faster plays, so you want an athletic middle being able to move side to side for blocking support. The outside hitters can capitalize on a 6’2″ frame against the setters in general who are under 6′ as a rule. The game changes, as we see most sets are going outside, so if you have a terminator out there, it is a huge advantage.

Great competition all around, and very happy Hartong is getting a chance to compete with and against such great competition.
